The Directorate of the Platonov Festival announced changes in the program of the arts forum on Thursday, February 7. One of the performances was canceled, but a new concert was added to the poster.

“Berliner of Ensemble” “Caligula”, scheduled for June 15 and 16, will not take place. The festival directorate could not promptly comment on the reason for canceling the show.
A new event in the musical poster of the forum will be the concert “World Music in Green Theater”, which will be held on June 9 in Central Park. It will join together two performers who sing in Portuguese, but live on different continents.

Ana Moura, a singer from Portugal, is considered one of the best performers of the traditional Portuguese song Fado. Ana Moura gave solo concerts at Carnegie Hall in New York and the Barbican Centre in London, performed with The Rolling Stones in Lisbon and Prince in Paris. She is a winner of “Amalia” and “Golden Globe” awards in “Best Performer” category.

Musician Miroca Paris and an ensemble from Cape Verde will also perform this evening. Paris performed with Cesaria Evora for 11 years. After her death, he was in the orchestra, named after the great singer for a long time, and now performs solo. Charismatic singer and virtuoso percussionist Paris mixes in his music such directions as fado, kizomba, samba and other genres of world music.

“World Music in Green Theater” concert was first held in Voronezh in 2016. The concert of the Platonov Festival was the first event that opened this platform to the general public after reconstruction.

The Ninth International Platonov Arts Festival will be held in Voronezh from June 1 to June 16. Tickets will go on sale at 10:00 on Friday, February 8.
