Mass screenings of matches of the football championship UEFA Euro 2020, which will be held from June 12 to July 12, will be organized in Voronezh. This apears from the bill on the regional budget adopted by the deputies of the regional parliament in the first reading on Tuesday, December 3.

In total, about 2 billion rubles will be allocated for physical education and sports in the region in 2020, which is 340 million more than in 2019. The money will be spent on the construction of sports facilities, the organization of competitions including the world climbing tournaments, the introduction of the All-Russian physical culture and sports system “Ready for Labor and Defense” (GTO) and much more. Part of the funds will be allocated for developing and equipping the ice rink in Central Park.

In 2018, a public screening of the matches of the World Cup was organized on Admiralteyskaya Square in Voronezh, where a stage and a multimedia screen were installed. Citizens watched the games in the open air from June 14 to July 15. The spectator stands were designed for 540 people.
