The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) observers praised the level of organization of the elections to the State Duma on September 18 in the Voronezh Region. This was told by Deputy Chairman of the Regional Election Committee Vladimir Meshcheryakov at a press conference on Tuesday, September 20.
12 OSCE representatives were working in the Voronezh Region. 10 of the observers arrived two days before the vote, the other two stayed in the Voronezh Region for 10 days.
The observers mentioned the surveillance cameras at each of the sites as a positive aspect in the organization of the election.
- The most severe was the Kyrgyzstan representative’s comment. He said that their country used less transparent ballot boxes in order to hide the voters’ choice. There used to be a requirement for the absolute transparency of a ballot box. Then there were other requirements. The boxes made by the Voronezh Region Election Committee have transparency of 60%. The boxes, which we received in the framework of the Federal supply are absolutely transparent, Vladimir Meshcheryakov said.
