Non-cash payment terminals will be mounted in “almost all Voronezh buses” before August 1, Mayor Vadim Kstenin stated during the yearly report on the work of the city administration to the City Duma deputies on Wednesday, May 30. Trolleybuses and some buses are already equipped with such terminals.

In addition, Vadim Kstenin pointed out the necessity of accepting the programme for refreshing the vehicle stock of MKP “Voronezhpassazhirtrans”. 37 buses are scheduled to be purchased in 2018 at the expense of budget funds. In 2017, private companies refreshed 218 units of the vehicle stock.

The Mayor reminded everyone that measures for optimizing the route network were taken in 2017. Three bus routes had been changed.

The context

Earlier, the Head of the City announced the implementation of the non-cash payment system in public transport by July 0f 2018. The Mayor noted that tariffs would vary – a discount would be applied to passengers using credit cards. Those who use cash will have to pay 25 rubles, those paying with their credit cards will pay 21 ruble.
