The training camp of the youth and adult Russian national climbing teams started at the Voronezh Grand Prix Sports Center on Friday, August 7. In total, the training of the country's leading climbers involves about 100 people. The training camp will be held until August 27.

‘In my many years of work in the federation, I cannot recall such a massive training event. But this is a necessary measure. In modern conditions, it is rather difficult to arrange training camps: gyms are not open in all regions. And we need to provide centralized training for the athletes of the main and youth teams. Voronezh has an excellent training base. In addition to it, we are setting up another temporary climbing wall. Therefore, we will accommodate with comfort and will be able to ensure compliance with all the necessary sanitary rules,’ said the Vice-President of the Russian Climbing Federation Vladimir Malamid.

Russian national teams will train in two shifts. The schedule of classes is formed so that the work of national teams does not affect the functioning of the Grand Prix. The local trainees continue to train as usual, and the commercial activities of the sports center have not been disrupted.
