Voronezh took the 9th place among popular Russian cities for family weekend vacations. The ranking was published on tourism service website Tvil on Wednesday, July 18.

The ranking was put together in accordance with the number of hotel bookings made by tourists from July 15 to August 31 of 2018. Resort cities were not included in the list. Voronezh also ended up in the list of cheap cities among popular destinations in terms of the average tourists’ expenses. According to the website, tourists book trips to Voronezh with children on summer weekends for the average of two nights and spend 2.5 thousand rubles a day per family.

The list of popular cities also includes St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, Yaroslavl, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Kaliningrad, Petrozavodsk and Novosibirsk. Thus, families come to St. Petersburg for the average of five nights and spend 3 thousand rubles a day per family. Trips to Moscow usually take four nights with the average expenses of 3.2 thousand rubles. Tourists come to Rostov-on-Don for two nights, and a family spends around 1.9 thousand rubles a day.
