Voronezh studio Wizart Animation has released a trailer of feature-length animated film “Sheep and Wolves: Pig Wolves”. The video was published on YouTube on Thursday, November 29. The cartoon will be released on January 24 of 2019, the Press Service of the studio reported.

“Sheep and Wolves: Pig Deal” is the sequel to the first part of Voronezh cartoon “Sheep and Wolves” (Volki i ovtsy. Be-e-e-zumnoe prevrashchenie). In the second part of the franchise, the audience will witness the adventures of the already known characters: wolf Gray, she-wolf Bianca, seagull Klif, lamb Ziko and ewe-lamb Lira. According to the plot, the joint sheep-and-wolf village is attacked by a strong enemy – a black wolf pack. The villagers have only three days to make a stand. The village residents led by wolf Grey fight for their beliefs and stand up to the enemy.

The cartoon was directed by Vladimir Nikolaev. The script was written by Alexey Tsitsilin, Vladimir Nikolaev and Hollywood animator Robert Lence, known for his work in The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story, and Shrek.

– After the successful release of the first part of animated film “Sheep and Wolves”, we decided to make a sequel about wolf Grey and the joint sheep-and-wolf village - “Sheep and Wolves: Pig Deal” which had turned out to be a kind, educative and joyful story. The international team that had worked on the project managed to make the cartoon familiar and comprehensible for audiences of different countries, - Producer General of Wizart Animation and producer of the cartoon Yury Moskin told.

 The sequel to Voronezh animated film “Sheep and Wolves” has picked the interest of distributors in the USA at the American Film Market 2018.

The context

The first part of the Voronezh cartoon “Sheep and Wolves” (Volki i ovtsy. Be-e-e-zumnoe prevrashchenie) was released in 2016. It became the prizewinner of Russian and international film festivals: the Golden Unicorn Awards in London in the Best Animated Film category, the Grand Prize of the Guro Kids International Film Festival in Seoul and many others.

The Voronezh animation studio will also release “The Snow Queen: Mirrorlands”. According to the plot, Gerda will have to unite with the Snow Queen to help the characters with magical powers imprisoned in the Mirrorlands. The screenings will start in February of 2019. The audiences of Poland, the Baltic States, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, South Korea, the Middle East states, Turkey and France will be the first to see the cartoon.
