Students of the Voronezh State University took the second place at the international student competition of digital developments IT Challenge. The students received 5 thousand euros for the launch of their project and an opportunity to undertake an internship at Atos company, which conducted the contest. This was reported by the company's press service on Wednesday, July 4.
The Voronezh residents presented their chat-bot, which helps the user to find new exhibitions in the city and buy a ticket for an event. The program can also provide information about a particular painting and artist using the photo recognition function.
The first place in the competition went to the Columbia University team, that developed BTM Solutions program, which will enable to automate the electricity demand management. The program estimates the electricity cost in real time and interacts with the Internet of things. The winners received 10 thousand euros and the right to undertake an internship at Atos.
In third place went to the students of the University of Texas at Dallas (USA), who created chat-bot Electra. The bot will help companies operating in the utilities field to reduce the customer service cost. The guys received 3 thousand euros and the right to undertake an internship at the company.
The special prize was awarded to students of INSA Lyon (National Institute of Applied Sciences of Lyon, France). They came up with a personalized chat-bot that helps people with Alzheimer's disease stay active.

IT Challenge digital developments contest was held for the seventh time. In 2018, the contest committee received applications from 204 teams from 27 colleges and universities around the world.
