Viewers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will be able to watch the cartoon by Voronezh animation studio Wizart Animation in cinemas. The screenings of “The Snow Queen: Mirrorlands” will begin in February 2019, the company’s press service reported on Wednesday, November 7.

Before that, the animated films “The Snow Queen”, “The Snow Queen 2” and “The Snow Queen 3. Fire and Ice” were available in Germany only on TV and on DVD / VOD. Peppermint Enterprises LTD & Co. Kg will screen the film in cinemas. In German, the cartoon will be called Die Schneekönigin Im Spiegelland.

The main idea of the new film about the Snow Queen is the clash of science and magic, progress and witchery. King Harald who lost his loved ones because of the Snow Queen wants to cleanse the world of magic. Young Gerda together with pirates, trolls and the Snow Queen herself are against it.

“Central Partnership” (part of “Gazprom-Media”) and “Soyuzmultfilm” participated in the production of the film. The cartoon is directed by Alexey Tsitsilin and Hollywood cartoonist Robert Lence, known for his work in The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story, and Shrek.

Viewers in Poland and the Baltic States will be the first to watch the cartoon. The screenings will be held December 21, 2018. In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the cartoon will be screened on December 27. Russian viewers will be able to evaluate the story of the Snow Queen on January 1, 2019. Starting from January 4, residents of Romania and Bulgaria will join them. After that, the film will go on a trip to South Korea and the Middle East. In April 2019, “The Snow Queen: Mirrorlands” will be watched by viewers in China. The rights to the animated film were also sold to companies from the former Yugoslavia, Turkey and France.
