The Voronezh Regional Clinical AIDS Prevention and Service Center has won in the “Risk Zone” category of the all-Russian “Best AIDS Center” contest. The reward was given to the winners in Moscow by Deputy Minister of Health Care of Russia Oleg Salagay, the Press Center of the Regional Government reported on Friday, November 30.

The Voronezh AIDS Center was awarded for the best joint project with a noncommercial organization which was supposed to increase the awareness level of the population of the HIV infection and support the people living with this disease. 47 educational events have been held at the center for the core groups of the population in 2018. The staff has organized 12 events as a result of which over 900 people have been consulted by doctors.

The best AIDS centers of the country were selected in six categories which included the “Forewarned is Forearmed” category for the best communicative project in the media, “Everyone Is Affected” for the best project that stimulates people to take an HIV test, “Live and Create!” for the best audio clip, video, or text, “Fresh Perspective” for an unorthodox approach to increasing the population’s awareness level, “Risk Zone” for the best joint project with a noncommercial organization, and “2018 AIDS Center” for the best AIDS and infectious disease prevention and service center in 2018.
