A public screening of the 2018 FIFA World Cup games will be organized in Voronezh from June 14 to July 15, the Press Service of the City Hall reported on Monday, May 28. For this purpose a 10х12 meter stage structure and a 4х6 meter multimedia screen will be mounted on Admiralteyskaya Square.

The audience stands will be fit for 540 people. As representatives of the Press Service of the Regional Department of Physical Culture and Sports explained to the RIA “Voronezh” correspondent, the games will be broadcasted for free. No tickets are required. Viewers will be admitted to the territory on a first-come-first-served basis until the site is full.

A gate and fencing system and arched metal detectors will be mounted on Admiralteyskaya Square in order to provide safety of the audience. Security officers will examine football fans at the entrance. No alcohol will be allowed at the site.

The authorities are currently discussing the way the games will be broadcasted. There are two options. The first one implies screening by connecting to federal channels (Channel One, Russia-1 and Match TV). However, in doing so games will be interrupted with commercials. The second option is connecting to satellite television, but this requires additions expenses.

Also, the authorities have not yet decided whether all the games will be broadcasted to the big screen. The reason is the necessity to maintain public order. For example, most of the games end at 22:00 Moscow time, but some end at 23:00.

– If it is decided to broadcast all the games, it is most likely that after 22:00 the volume will be lowered, - representatives of the Press Service of the Regional Department of Physical Culture and Sports explained.
